Originally built in the 1870s, The Zybell House has been transformed into a destination for travelers and events. Zybell House features four boarding rooms comfortably appointed for both individuals and families. Whether you’re looking for a couple’s getaway, an extended business rental, or a family weekend exploring Central Illinois, we’ve got you covered. It is also perfect for wedding parties, homecoming weekend, or for groups attending Illini athletic events or other occasions on the University of Illinois campus.
Zybell House is conveniently located just one block off the downtown square, one block from the Monarch Brewery and across the street from the Wabash Depot, where you can board a restored historic train operated by the Monticello Railway Museum on Saturdays and Sundays from May through October. The Depot is also where riders board for the popular Polar Express on four weekends in November and December. Unique Monticello is just five miles from Robert Allerton Park, one of the “Seven Wonders of Illinois” and 30 minutes from the University of Illinois.
Second floor accommodations feature for guestrooms, but it also can be divided into two suites. The house includes a comfortable central living room (with pull out couch and a Tempurpedic mattress, if needed), a kid’s playroom, kitchen, and dining area. Individual room rentals include a continental breakfast. Whole house rental is also available.
Zybell House is also perfect for group events of up to 40 people such as baby or bridal showers, family gatherings, company retreats, group lunches or dinners, or as a place to host a party or pop-up retail shop.
A sister company from the Zybell House group is our prepared, frozen meal service called Gourmet to Go. It helps families gather round the table, whether it’s a busy Tuesday night or Saturday morning brunch for out of town visitors. We believe that scratch made, minimally processed foods taste better and are healthier for you and your family
